One Stage Three Dreams

One Stage Three Dreams

Combining three classical ballet pieces, Ade Rayanti School of Ballet held A Journey to the Dreamland.

The whole kingdom is in a joyful mood. Prince Desire (Welly) had successfully broken the course put upon the Pricess Aurora by the evil witch. A curse that had made her slept for 100 hundred years. A big festivity was then held to celebrate the wedding of the prince and the princess.

The merriment was attended by familiar characters from the dreamland, Puss in Boots (Boyke), The White Cat (Ella), The Blue Bird (Alex), Princess Florine (Tasya), The Red Riding Hood (also played by Chitra), and The Wolf (Welly). Every one danced in a delightful mood celebrating the happiness of Prince Desire and Princess Aurora.

This is the first repertoar danced in that night’s performance. Danced by about 50 students of Ade Rayanti School of Ballet, the performance was titled A Journey to the Dreamland. The title was chosen because it combined ballet that were based on fairytales

famous throughout the world. Sleeping Beauty by Marius Pettipa, Flamenco/ Spanish Dance by Maestro Morales and Trini Borull, and also Princess Talissa and the Fairies ballet which were adapted by Chitra Haryanti the artistic director of the school, from the works of Petipa and Fokine.

For about two hours, the audience was entertained with performances from the best students of the ballet school establish in 1967. Several role were played directly by the artistic directors of the School Chitra Haryanti and Welly Agussalim.

One of the highlights of the performance was the glamorous costume as well as interesting backdrops that really amuses the eyes of the audience.Unfortunately there were several problems with music in some parts of the performance.

For Ade Rayanti Ballet, the show is an annual event held especially to demonstrate the level of achievement and mastery of many of its students. This annual show has been held since 1981.
