Peace Offer by Kids

They celebrated peace without ulterior motives and weapon.

The children of the unkempt hair giant seemed so joyous singing and dancing. Their behavior and manner were so unadorned and funny until often inviting people to laugh at. From their daily style and attitude, apparently they are so close to nature.

However, in the midst of the cheerful situation, suddenly a big high postured ancient animal passed quickly. The Giant’s children kept silent, the circumstances became tensing, but it turned out that that particular animal was just passing by to look for food, and the condition returned to be joyful.

But what to say, nothing in this life is everlasting. The cheerfulness of the Giant’s children started to be disturbed when a wicked hunter came and tried to take the ancient animal’s egg. After that, was the Giant’s child capable to create peace in their world assisted by Children of Five Continents ?

Raising up the “Spectacle Peace a Visual Theatre Performance” play, “Teater Tanah Air” under the directives of art director Jose Rizal Manua tried to offer peace theme being observed from the children’s point of view. Peace based upon children’s version, is considered more pure since it is not contaminated by various interest yet. There is a mistaken use available so far in an antithesis from the peace point of view, namely obtaining peace created by scared feeling, when each human being or nation armed themselves with weapons in order not to be defeated.

A simple angle of vision which is offered by Teater Tanah Air through their “Spectacle Peace a Visual Theatre Performance” presentation has sufficiently smashed when we begin to contemplate what is the meaning behind all of it. Nicely, the children of Teater Tanah ir with all their specialties were indeed successful in performing the “Spectacle Peace a Visual Theatre Performance” play concerned.

One thing to be proud of was that through “Spectacle Peace a Visual Performance”, Teater Tanah Air was successful in attaining the “Best Performance” appreciation in 2008 at the “10th World Festival of Children’s Theatre” in Moscow, Russia. Besides that, Teater Tanah Air has been given honor to come before the Head office of the United nations (Palais des Nations) in Geneve, Switzerland in line with the United Nations Universal Children’s Day anniversary.
